Mesa Security x Microsoft for Startups
Our Exploration in Azure
In 2024, Azure adoption accounted for a whopping 24% of the global cloud market – making it the most popular cloud platform. This significant adoption rate reflects a growing trend among startups choosing Microsoft Azure Cloud for its unparalleled features, especially through initiatives like Microsoft for Startups. The scalability, reliability, and extensive range of services offered by Azure provide an ideal foundation for startups to build their cloud instances. Additionally, startups leveraging Microsoft Azure can benefit from its comprehensive suite of security and productivity tools tailored to their unique operational needs. For instance, many startups are utilizing Azure’s machine learning capabilities to optimize their business processes, while others are integrating Azure’s AI tools to enhance customer engagement.
Creating a robust email security platform on Azure necessitates a systematic and organized strategy. To achieve this, we’ve developed a detailed blueprint designed specifically to ensure scalability, performance, and security in the architecture of our solution.
There are two primary components to Mesa’s architecture on Azure:
1. Building with Azure’s Enterprise Applications
The heart of our platform lies in real-time threat analysis, powered by the intelligence gathered from Microsoft’s Graph API. Given that Mesa’s product integrates with a tenant’s Microsoft’s 365 deployment, building on Azure becomes a natural choice. Here are some key features we utilize:
- Threat Intelligence Correlation: Aggregating security data from across Microsoft 365 services including user directory, emails, and Microsoft’s security alerts to detect attack patterns.
- Automated Security Workflows: Using Graph API to query, analyze, and respond to email threats in real time.
- Custom Policy Enforcement: Enabling dynamic email security policies based on emerging threats identified through Graph API
2. Azure’s AI services
Azure OpenAI Service combines OpenAI’s powerful language models with Azure’s enterprise capabilities. Our primary requirements include:
- AI models: Using various GPT models (GPT-4 and GPT 3.5 turbo) for text and image classification.
- Security and Compliance: Meeting various compliance standards including SOC, ISO and HIPAA.
- Enterprise Scale: High availability and reliability through Azure’s global infrastructure.
